group bookings & talks 
Regular talks on the Sunbury Millennium Embroidery are given by our experienced volunteers and last approximately 20 minutes. Why not combine your visit with a set lunch or afternoon tea (home made) followed by a walk around the historic walled garden. 
We can comfortably accommodate parties of up to 12. Booking essential. Booking form available on request.
Talks are free, but any donations are gratefully received.

SURREY ARTISTS' OPEN STUDIOS


Still Life - Hildegarde Reid
As part of the Surrey Artists' Open Studios fortnight the vibrant and colourful paintings by local artist Hildegarde Reid will be on show in the Gallery

There will be demonstrations by Hildegarde during the weekend of the Art Trail from 11 to 13 June. 

As part of the Sunbury Art Trail the Gallery will remain 
open to 8pm on Friday 11th June.
Come along and meet the artist and join us for a drink.

The Gallery joins with the Riverside Arts Centre and other studios in the village as part of the Sunbury Art Trail Weekend. Maps will be available closer to the time at the Gallery and other participating venues.

THE LIFE OF A HERB

Pupils from Manor Mead School for children with special needs will grow and nurture their very own herb at school and at the Embroidery Gallery. They will see how the herb grows and explore its uses in everyday life. A hands on project supported by Squire's Garden Centre, Shepperton. Artist Donagh Curwen will assist the children in making a wall collage of herbs in mixed media to be displayed at the Gallery from 21 to 30 June. We are grateful for financial assistance for this project from Spelthorne Borough Council.

CLEMATIS FESTIVAL IN THE WALLED GARDEN

The Clematis Society are holding a second Clematis Festival in the Walled Garden this June. It promises to be another great day with exhibitors from across the country.

Beginners and intermediate one day felt making workshop 

£35.00 includes morning coffee/tea. 

10 am to 4 pm - Limited numbers. BOOKING ESSENTIAL.

OPEN GARDENS DAY - VISIT SEVEN LOCAL GARDENS

Each garden has something different, bookstalls, teas, raffle, lunches at the St Mary's Church Hall. Proceeds to St Mary's Church and Shooting Star Children's Hospice. 

Tickets available at the Gallery. £4 in advance / £5 on the day. Children Free.

PICNIC IN THE PARK - 7pm

The Friends of the Sunbury Embroidery are once again organising an evening concert in the Walled Garden. This year High Society Big Band conducted by Mike Branner will be providing a mixed programme of music including jazz and popular themes. Bring chairs, tables and picnics... and something warm just in case. 
Gates open at 6.15pm

Schools Community Arts Project

Five local schools are each creating a piece of work to celebrate community life. The pieces will link together to form a larger work which will be assembled in St Mary's Church on Saturday 9 October before being displayed in the Gallery.

Jill Flower - Solo Exhibition


Modern Woman - detail

'Circles of Life' a contemporary twist on Shakespeare’s 'The Seven Ages of Man' monologue from As You Like It. Best remembered for her elaborate and exquisitely made bags selected for exhibition at the Victoria and Albert museum in 2003, Jill has continued to experiment and develop using a unique manipulation of stitch and scraps of printed matter trapped into a crusty lace-like fabric to create a series of light hearted theatrical pieces with a 'wow' factor as they draw the viewer in for a closer look.

Experimental Textile Workshop with Jill Flower

Complete a modern and unique brooch. A new and contemporary way of using recycled papers to create a piece of art.
