HANGING BY A THREAD

James Fox - Textile Artist

Using machine embroidery and reverse appliqué techniques James takes freehand machine embroidery to another depth. Exploring themes in society and everyday life that we sometimes chose to ignore. His portraits of people in society usually seen in a negative light are arrestingly softened by the media skill and colours he carefully chooses for each piece. They reach out emotionally with humour and a raw edge, always questioning, stunningly beautiful and sometimes giving the appearance of stained glass. James has exhibited and sold work nationally and internationally

fallen angel

stained glass installation - david light

David exhibited ‘Fallen Angel’ for the first time at the ‘New Designers’ show in Islington in July 2012 to much acclaim. Before falling under the spell of glass David spent 25 years in the graphic design print industry. He recently gained a first-class honours degree from Swansea School of Glass. During the course he became fascinated with the human form and how its interpretation can speak to the onlooker on many different levels.

‘Fallen Angel’ is a compelling study which is both functional and a work of art with a spiritual vibrancy that is immediately captivating.
