A visually stunning Exhibition of Liberty Print portraits by pupils of The
Lady Eleanor Holles school, Hampton. A project masterminded by Head of Art Sarah Pauffley whereby each student was asked to produce a self portrait as part of LEH’s 300th anniversary celebrations. Liberty generously donated the Tana Lawn fabrics that were used to create these self portraits. The unique qualities of Tana Lawn, with its rich range of colours and small scale repeat print, was an ideal choice enabling the students to create the amazing tones within their portraits. A remarkable achievement by GCE level students aged 15-16. |

Rebecca Fairley is a graduate of Huddersfield University, achieving a degree in Surface Design for Fashion and Interiors. The focus of her work towards the end of her studies has been material manipulation and working in particular with concrete which she moulds using unlikely materials, such as knit and crochet, forming exciting surfaces that juxtapose the idea of hard and soft. Strong colours are introduced along with materials such as glass and plastic creating a playful mix which challenges the way concrete is commonly perceived. (A projected slide show will accompany the work on display) |
